I lucked up on 2 boxes of Remington Accutip this week at Sportsman Warehouse in Murfreesboro. That's what my Savage loves.

Accutips if you can find them. I used to use federal Barnes expanders. The Barnes were absolutely the most devastating bullet I have ever seen. My savage 12 gauge shot the sst slugs the best

I use accutips. I like the accurac, but the performance on deer is lacking. I have shot several and they act like they haven't been hit. I have used the Barnes expanders, and have much better performance on deer. I hope to find some more.

I shoot the 3 inch Federal trophy copper out of my 220. Very accurate! My uncle shoots the Remington accutips out of his 220 and it's also accurate. I don't think you could go wrong either way I just prefer the trophy copper. I will also say that I bought some Hornady SST as back up, just because I came across some and I can't find the trophy copper right now, at 50 yards they shot really good I have not shot them at 100 yet. The 220 is a great gun you will enjoy it

Thanks guys. I understand they are different but since everything is hard to find I was trying to narrow down what I was looking for. Does Remington still make the Barnes expander or did it get discontinued?

I don't think Remington will make the Barnes expander anymore. When the Remington company was sold off in pieces, the Barnes bullet was bought by ATK. We might see them in another ammo company's shell, since ATK owns several

For me the 220 only liked Remington accutips or federal Barnes expanders. The accutips were more accurate than the expanders.

I am not crazy about the accutip performance on game. But since they were so accurate, I still use them. I just avoid the shoulder bone.
