Why speciicically?
I prefer onX as well. When I tried hunt stand I did not like the property bounds (public/private) layout (this could have changed since I used it).

I mostly hunt public and have been trying some NF. With onX I can quickly locate public tracts, FS roads, and see topo overlay of the area.

Also some cool options to tell you what a field is planted in, shows where oak trees are, clear cuts (shows the year it was cut on NF), and a new option that updates satellite imagery every 2 weeks to help find or avoid thick areas.

Huntstand may have some or all of these options, but I am in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mindset with onX. Plus I have 350 pins I have dropped over the past 5 years I don't want to give up with a new app haha.

I ditched Huntstand after trying OnX. Then I did a one year comparison of OnX and Basemap. I ended up sticking with OnX. I liked it better than Basemap, but I think it's mainly because I was more used to OnX. OnX or Basemap are both great.
