Sorry, better check this before claiming it to be true..... I hope this helps example helps. change the numbers as needed to include height in a stand.

Bottom line: Most of the time, hunters should hold dead on at 100 yards:

Lots of rangefinders will give you the adjusted range depending on angle.

If the angle is steep enough it can make a line of sight 400 yard shot take something like a 275 yard setting on your turret

The basic rule of thumb is that the adjacent side is always shorter than the hypotenuse – this is why you would always miss high if you didn't allow for the angle. It is also the reason that the rule applies the same whether you are shooting uphill or downhill – it's the same line and experiences the same
