Any of y'all use a one stick to get up the tree and then repell down? Just wondering what your thoughts are compared versus caring a set of sticks.
I definitely don't want to climb down aiders in the dark.I use two sticks with a aider on them and just leap frog with them. I found myself tired and sweating doing the one stick but you may be different. I do rappel down and would not do it any other way. Hardly any chance of falling and I feel more secure doing it that way.
Ditto. My Skeletors are pretty stinkin light. It's more of an issue of speed for me. I'm a lot faster/safer with 4 than 1 and the weight really isn't that big of a deal.I use 4 sticks and an aider on the bottom! But I'm an old guy!
Someone should post a video so us non climbers can see what you're doing
Or climb up them in the rain on some real slick bark...I definitely don't want to climb down aiders in the dark.
Thanks for the video. That was some cool information but I think I will stick to ladderstands being out of shape and old. This should give you an idea. That is not me in the video.
Lol I'm in my 50's and round as I am tall!!I'm not an aider fan. I've tried several and all of em make me uncomfortable. Those few feet ain't worth a broken bone for me. I'm not a monkey and don't play one on TV. I'll leave the acrobatics for you younger, slimmer, and more agile fellas
Balls balance pretty well I guess! LolLol I'm in my 50's and round as I am tall!!
It's really pretty simple and safe when you get the hang of it. Easier on my back than sitting in a stand tooI think I'll just stick to my climber for bow hunting. And sit on the ground with the rifle. Saddle hunting looks so complicated
If you are near the plateau I would be happy to meet up and let you try it out sometimeYea I guess don't nock it till you try it ( no pun intended lol) applies here as well.
