Praise the Lord.
Got deer #2 with my primitive horse bow this morning.
She went about 45 yards and was done.
So thankful for creation, the hunt ,the deer , the ability and the blessing.

Got it done in Michigan last night, had a doe come in at 20 and drew, she got behind a tree so I held but had to let down. She walked out to 30 let it fly; sounded like someone punching a brick wall. She ran and saw her go wobbly and down 50 yards from where she was hit. 3 blade swhacker did the job! No exit through the hide but penetrated through the rib cage on both sides

Used up one tag on this guy. After passing spikes and a fork I decided this buck would do for tag #1. Any buck with a bow is a win.

Also took a doe about 30 min later (top pic).

3 does and 1 buck this year. I won't shoot again unless it's a wall hanger. Good luck out there boys!

Filled one tag this morning. He came within 10 yards of my stand at 6:30. It was still dark, I could make out his body outline and thought I could see antlers but wasn't sure. He walked about 25 yards and started eating acorns. About 10 mins later it was light enough I could see it was a buck. There was some trees and brush between us but I could tell he was an 8 point had had gotten on camera this year. He was the smallest of three bucks I had designated as shooter bucks at the start of the season after about 15 more minutes I was finally able to get a shot at about 30 yards. I hit him a little to far forward and took out his shoulder. I found my arrow and it was broke with the broadhead and the first couple inches of the shaft missing. I found just a little blood on a tree he ran into and a couple drops past the tree with a small bone chip then the blood trail quit. I walked in the direction I last seen him and found him about 100 yards from where he was hit. The arrow broke the shoulder and penetrated the chest. All the blood stayed in the chest cavity, I was very fortunate to find him.

My ten year old scored on his best buck this morning and his second with a muzzleloader. Very proud of him. He had to watch two 3 1/2 year old bucks for twenty minutes before a shot was offered. He made the most of the opportunity and dumped him in his tracks. He helped me quarter him out also! Much better than me killing one!
