Need help setting a debate. Specifically talking about Tims Ford Lake but is a fishing license needed if fishing from a privately owned dock?

Just make sure your feet or hands do not touch the public water and you should be okay.
Private waters do not require a license.Incorrect answer
That is not correct.Private waters do not require a license.
You just validated my post....
Agree 100%A private dock on a public waterway certainly does not qualify.
I don't think pay lakes require a licenseIn Tennessee, you're required to have a license to get a hook wet, regardless as to what the deed says on the property where you are. If you dug the hole, if you filled it with water, if you stocked it with fish from a private company that you bought with your own money, you have to have a license
Never said anything about a private "dock" on a public lake.Agree 100%
Note that I said "private waters" not private docks.I did not. You said "private waters do not require licenses". That's not true unless you're part of the landowner exemption stated. A private dock on a public waterway certainly does not qualify.
I never did either? Other than on public water you need a license.Never said anything about a private "dock" on a public lake.
Private lake on Private property does not require a license.
