I still don't understand why anyone would mess with all the crap that goes into a red dot when most modern shottys have a fiber optic front bead, not knocking anyone who uses a optic just don't see the difference, would love to hear opinions

Because i can either see the bead or the target not both at the same time, if not for red dots or scopes i wouldnt be able to ethically turkey hunt because of my eyes

the MAJOR benefit to red dots minus old eyes, is it doesnt require you to have a perfect line from eye to bead. If you have an off hand shot or have to shoot in a non normal situation then a red dot is ideal. If the dot is on it then its dead vs you dont have a perfect cheek weld on the gun so now you shoot high or left or right.

This is the main reason I went to one. I used a scope with turkey plex reticle and when I got a different gun I tried to stick with the fiber optic sites and missed a couple. I was raising up and not staying down on the gun causing me to miss so went to a FF3.

When I started needing cheater glasses if I focused on the front bead the mid bead was out of focus and vice-versa.
I added a Burris FF3 and solved my issue.

I actually went to one for my son,I thought it would help him when he was younger. I liked it so well and my eyes have changed so much, I have them on more than one gun now. My favorite is the Green circle dot of a swampfox kingslayer the green shows up better to me for some reason.

I just looked and Swampfox optics is having an end of year sale if anyone is interested. The Kingslayer is 140 and that is with the base that fits a picatinny rail . You don't have to get green , they have red dot and red circle dot as choices also. Sale ends today! Lol, just noticed it . Great warranty, 50,000 shots counted by you,( lifetime in other words.)

I've been looking at getting one for the upcoming turkey season. Been meaning to post on here what the best red dot optic there is for turkey. This thread looks overwhelmingly like the Burris FF3 is it.

Anyone else have any pros/cons on the FF3 or suggest another optic?

Heck if anyone is thinking of the FF3, might as well go with this deal from lockedandloaded

Free beretta gun with it (more less).

You just had to do that didn't you? 🤣

I've got $200 gift cards to Amazon, which would simply purchase this Burris FF3, and you post this deal. Basically you get a 9mm for $110. Decisions, decisions 🤣

I hunted for years with just a bead and killed plenty of turkeys. I put a cheap red dot on my son's gun when he was little. I liked it so much that I put a FF3 on it because if the dot is in the turkey at any angle then he's dead. My son liked my FF3 alot better than his so he has one now too.

I purchased my 1st red dot to correct a POI issue with a 410 using a very tight choke. I quickly learned that it helped when shooting from awkward positions and decided to put one on my 20ga. My SBE 12ga shoots high and I've always had to aim at the base of the neck to compensate for it. I haven't used the 12 since setting up a 20 w/an FF3.

I really liked my ff3 until i almost lost a bird not able to see through the optic. Luckily was able to get my hand up and use it as a sun shade over the optic. Morning sun was coming up and ended up right in my face where we were sitting in the woods. You can't see crap through it with the sun shining in the front of it

Mine came with a shade that pops on. I haven't used it though as I just put the FF3 on last year.
