IF, I decide to jump on the wagon and try the TSS in my 835, which Choke should I consider? Im currently using the PRIMOS choke with a .690 contrition. Longbeards #6 in 3" is my load

I'd try that choke first and see how it does. If you're using federals they may like a little tighter (.670-680 range). But if you're using handloads, the .690 will probably be really good.

I shoot .585 in my guns. I have been please with this pattern up to 40 yards. I am not looking to shoot past that. I also do not want to shoot a softball at them at 20 yards.

The last 835 I shot knocked fillings loose.
One advantage of using TSS is you can go to a lighter payload, preserve or increase range, while significantly reducing recoil.

No need to use a 2 oz or more payload with TSS.
1 1/2 to 1 3/4 will greatly outperform 2 oz or more of lead,
WITHOUT the excessive recoil.

You can even go to a more open choke, reducing your odds of missing at close range,
while still having a greater range than #5 lead loads.

Make sure when you swing by the sporting goods store to get your TSS shells you also pick up a mouthpiece and boxing/sparring headgear. If you can find one in Mossy Oak or Realtree camo you're all set. The last 835 I shot knocked fillings loose.

They are brutal to shoot,I've owned two 835's and sold one of them but still own one that I need to put up for sale because I will will never use it again in the turkey woods!A few years ago I bought a Mossberg 935 with a pistol grip that kicks so much less than the 835 but kills as far!I never had a problem with flinching until I shot the 835 but it made me flinch and I'm still not cured!

I shoot 12 ga 3inch hand rolled 8.5 with 2oz. of TSS in my 835. I never feel the kick shooting at a turkey but don't like shooting at a target due to the excessive recoil. I got the best pellet counts at 40 and 50 yds using a standard full choke over the tighter turkey chokes. I believe it was. .55 but I'd have to confirm that size.

Yep, I have an 835. That's funny and true!

FWIW, my understanding is that the reason it's such a beast is that it's overbored. This makes sense to me because when I run a 12 gauge brush through it, it slips through too easily.
