Upcoming Weekend Weather for 10-14/15

Weather patterns are going to be active over the weekend. Looks like rain in the Upper Cumberland. Fingers crossed there is a sizeable lull in the rain.

Anyone planning on being on stand this weekend? I don't bow hunt in the rain anymore if I can help it.

I'll be there. No rain in the forecast here. Low of 50 for Saturday morning and 45 Sunday morning. Ky juvi hunt is this weekend and hope to get my nephews out there Saturday morning at least. If not I'll be out either way.

I'm planning on a four day hunt starting Thursday. I'll be dangling from a tree with my longbow again.

I'll be doing last minute seeding and card pull in Ohio. Maybe a sit or two if I find the right buck and feel like I can get it done. Then back here to see if I can't get one of these big 8s.

Will be here by dark tonight. Right now it's southerly, switching to west midday, and north by tonight.bucks should be on their feet since there won't be a safe place to bed for any stretch of time.

I wonder if the strong NW winds will keep them bedded down tomorrow. Gusts could be up to 20 mph. Low temps should get them moving but the wind could be a factor.

Im always on the fence with wind. My overall experience has been that the majority of deer do not like to move when its gusting into the 20s. I am speaking outside of the rut.

During rut and especially post rut when the cruising starts I'd say wind won't matter. But otherwise they hunker down if it's really gusty. Right before dark as everything calms down I think you'd see excellent movement but you'd need to be close to bedding. Windy days are great for stalking into bedding.
