I hunted with friends 20 or so years ago and they had pines cut. The first several years you can jack up beside it and the deer think they're hid in the new growth. If they replant in pines, ask if you can put small food plots in there.

Everyone has their opinions but from many many years of hunting cutovers in central and eastern NC, me personally, there's no where I'd rather hunt on a cold clear morning than a fresh cut or year old cutover. I love it.
Logging affects deer hunters way more than it affects deer.

Well, I had decided I would stay on the lease but then got word that a new company was going to start managing the lease. Price went up about 50%. The new company is AMP. After talking to some that had hunted AMP leases before, I decided I will not be on the lease. Luckily I have a couple friends that own a couple farms where i grew up in humphrey's County and I will be able to hunt them. This will be a lot more convenient as well. Oh well, time to start learning new lands.
