So I know most of you seen the post about my stepson, and his hunt over the weekend. Today my sister sent me some pictures she found of our grandpa. I thought this was pretty cool and worth sharing. The best we can figure these were taken around 1988 making me 4 years old at the time. Liam was born in 09'. In 2021 two of these guns are the highlights of my season. The one he is holding is a 54.cal T/c Renegade. The marlin behind him in the center is the one the boy used this weekend. I can't wait for muzzleloader to get here so I can roll one with a patch and ball! I also have the single six which is in the holster, original box, paperwork and velvet bag with spare cylinder. Receipt shows he paid $72.28 in December of 1968

Love it. We have a few of those guns you speak of and one of them is my go to still. It is a Marlin .35 336c. My dad killed his first deer with it (button buck) and I killed my first deer with it (button buck also) 30 years to the day.

I could look at those old black and white hunting pictures all day.

It's either a 1980 or 1981 Marlin 3030 gold trigger. My dad bought it new and killed a pile of deer with it with open sights. Put a scope on it around 1994 for me to hunt with it. I killed my first deer with it, my brother killed his first with it, 2 of my cousins killed their first with it and I know at least 2-3 friends killed their first with it.

Wasn't my nephew's first but he killed with it this year and now says it's his gun 😂. Little does he know I'm grown and will whoop him for it 😅

It's now killed through 3 generations of us and hope it kills a lot more in the future generations

Cool having that history, thanks for sharing. Only gun I have from my family, was my grandfather's Smith and Wesson .32-20 revolver, he carried it with him in the coal mines in west Virginia. My dad died when I was 2, all his guns were stolen in a move. I will have some to hand down to my grandchildren though. I have one 2 year old granddaughter and another granddaughter on the way.

I picked this up a few weeks ago. It was my great, great, great, great grandfathers (or possibly 5 greats) from the Civil War. My uncle tracked it down and it was a pile of parts in a box. He had it restored and hung on his wall. He passed away 6 years ago and his son, my cousin, passed back in august from covid. He left it to me so trying to figure out now where to hang it in my house.
