Garden did not look too bad at all when we came home yesterday. I just had to trim down some big weeds that had got out of hand coming out of the cracks between rows of landscape fabric.

This plot is in the middle of a community garden behind a church so you will see some other garden and weed infested patches in the background ;)

Thanks to a couple of people in the garden who helped keep watch of my patch while we were gone.

Black Pearl hot peppers (considered ornamental, except by me. Taste kind of like chiles)

The hot peppers have grown huge so far. Black pearl, habanero, and cayenne.

Opalka tomatoes (an heirloom variety), in case you may not recognize the unusual shape

Here you can kind of see the whole patch

First harvest. What to do with all these? I don't yet have all the ingredients for pickles...

That's all for now.

thanks all.

Rain has done it well for sure. And the weed fabric held up fairly well, with all the rocks to hold it down.

Note to self, weed fabric needs mulch on top, or weeds will grow and push it straight up. sunlight can go straight through it.

That's making me hungry looking at those pics. Slice those cumbers up and put in closed lid dish and add some vineagar, water, and a little salt. Put in fridge and let them chill. I think they compliment almost any meal.

I won't get started on the "home growns".
