I got on one about 9:30 this morning and he wouldn't shut up! I bet that joker gobbled 50 times. It was at the back of a slough and he was with some hens and I couldn't tell which side they were going down. My hearing aids kinds fool me about distance and direction. Boy, it may not have but with them turned all the way up it sounded like he was sitting on my gun barrel at one time. Of course they just mosy on along and fade out. Oh well, maybe Thursday.

If it sounded like he was gobbling at the end of your barrel, he probably was. You just couldn't see him. I've had a couple hunts this season in MS that still haunt me... but in a good way

I,ve been so close so many times this year in just these few days, it's been crazy. I really just half hearted hunted the last few years cause I felt bad for the turkeys with them having a hard time and all, but this year has been almost like the old days. I'd go every day if I could and had the places.
