I have a 6.5 prc. Wish it was 308 if that tells u anything. But I started my daughter with 7/08 with 120 grain Barnes. Absolutely no issues. She's 15 and still uses that gun.

What's your issue with the prc? I haven't heard anything bad about it so wondering.I have a 6.5 prc. Wish it was 308 if that tells u anything. But I started my daughter with 7/08 with 120 grain Barnes. Absolutely no issues. She's 15 and still uses that gun.
I do not like the performance on deer. JmoWhat's your issue with the prc? I haven't heard anything bad about it so wondering.
Bullet you used?I do not like the performance on deer. Jmo
124 grain hammer and then tried 130 BarnesBullet you used?
Thanks. It always interests me who has or didn't have success with a particular combination124 grain hammer and then tried 130 Barnes
Let me guess, little to no expansion?124 grain hammer and then tried 130 Barnes
Might do better with a 130/140 Accubond or the 140 Sierra TKG. I've gotten pretty good results with those on deer/coyotes.124 grain hammer and then tried 130 Barnes

They did not group like I wanted.Might do better with a 130/140 Accubond or the 140 Sierra TKG. I've gotten pretty good results with those on deer/coyotes.
That's a bullet issue, not a chambering issue. I would shoot some Norma Bondstrikes or Hornady ELD M's and you'll see better results.
I don't want hijack his thread. The 124 grain hammers and 130 grain Barnes shoot unreal. I shot 1 mature buck with each. Both hard tracking jobs. Shots were in the right place. I like partition bullets but they don't group well. Just not working for me. 7/08 with 140 Barnes is death on a stick. Very few move out of sight. I just wanted to try something flatter shooting.Hard bullets into soft/thin animals will do that.
I find this really interesting. I have not had a deer take a step since I switched to Hammer bullets. I think one key thing with them is you need to have them moving fast. They have petals that separate from the main section of the bullet. In

I'd guessing speed was sufficient if he was using a prc.I find this really interesting. I have not had a deer take a step since I switched to Hammer bullets. I think one key thing with them is you need to have them moving fast. They have petals that separate from the main section of the bullet.
