Shot sons 12g he bought to duck hunt this past year. He wants to turkey hunt with it, so I bought him a few boxes of the Tungsten Super Slam TSS Shot. 2oz #9s and we Shot it for POI.

Front and rear bead (no optics- he doesnt want them). Bird Shot at 25y was 5in high. TSS was 5in high at 40y.

Respectable pattern, not quite as even as I would like, but put 315 in the 10 with this combo. More even distribution in the 20. 244 in the 10 to 20, for 559 total inside 20.

He knows to aim where the neck meets the body, and if does his part, I don't see a tom escaping!

Realize the desire to shoot bead, but not a fan of "aiming off" on turkeys, especially in split second decision situations. Hopefully it won't be problematic for Ethan. Probably enough pellets to cover the gap, but always want to aim where center of my pattern is.

Agreed, it would drive me crazy as well....

And blows my mind that he would rather tote that long 26in bbl gun instead of the dialed in 20g youth I built for them when they were kids. But he's young and dumb 😀

Just a thought but if he wants to stick with a bead maybe one of the adjustable tru-glo type front beads that snap onto the rib might be a solution?

I'm sure he just isn't getting his cheek weld down tight enough on the comb. I'm guilty of doing the same (which is why I went to an optic 25 years ago on a turkey gun). He just wants a clean bead for duck hunting and shooting skeet (he actually is way better at skeet than I am).
