100 yard zero

Anyone else use 100 yard zero for there rifle ,I do ?

I do also. I have only made one shot my hole life over 100 yards. If I am going back to west Tennessee then I will change to a 200 yards zero but it's been over 10 years since I hunted big fields

I use 100 and just know my drops out to longer ranges. One property I hunt has 400 yard shots in a couple of directions.

100 yd zero on all my rifles but they all have turrets and I know the drops in MOA and just dial them in if needed. A 200 yd zero works well for western hunts but not for southern whitetails.

I use 200. 1" high at 50y, 2.1" high at 100, -9" at 300. Just fun shooting at the longer distances, though I would take a shot at a coyote at about any distance with my rifle, just because.

I zero at 100 and with adjustable currents, I dial for longer distances. Almost all precision shooters zero at 100, dial in range and also use a ranging reticle for quick shots.

It pays to know your "Point Blank Range" for your caliber and your specific rifle. Just zero an inch or two high at 100 yds could give you a 250 yd 6" zone on a deer depending on what caliber you are shooting.

Depends on what rifle. My .260 and 7mm I use 200 yd. zero and my 30-30, .243, .223....etc. all 100 yd.

I have shot more deer at 50 with a muzzle loader than any other distance, shot 2 at 267 steps, haven't repeated that in 3-4 years. like to be able to shoot very accurate at 50y and know where 100y hits. ,rifle 100y, 300wm carries a little ways without having to think

I'm 1" high at 100...30-06 165gr Federal Fusion...we have some shot opportunities out to 300 so this set up works for me... especially in the heat of the moment.

Im zeroed at 230 yrds. Bout 2.5 high at 100. No guess work from 5yds to 250.

Yes. Several of my guns have bdc type reticles.

I do sight in at 100, but I've only killed a deer at 100 or more yards exactly once (unsuccessfully shot at 250…on my first ever hunting trip as a youth on a powerline). Usually my shots are 60-85 yards.
