I have a mossberg 500c in 20 gauge using undertaker choke I have killed about dozen turkeys would put it up against anything. I bought a benelli but after running and gunning with it I traded it off. go with a 20 gauge alot of the pros are even using them now and the shells are a little cheaper.

As has been said a specialty shotgun is not needed, nor is a 10 ga. or for that matter a 12 ga. You can kill them all day long with a 20 gauge using 2 3/4" shells.

The 835 is a great gun but I started using a 870 20 gauge just for the fact I aint into shooting them at 50 yards. I like them to be inside the 30 yard mark or closer. To me that what turkey hunting is all about. Thats alot whole better, more exciting just plain awesome. The main thing is to buy a good quality call and learn how to use it. Dont worry so much about buying the perfect gun, learn how to call'em in and bust their heads. Anything will killem in close hands down.
