Ive never understood the fasination with the silver scope on a Stainless Rifle. I think the matte Black would be a nice contrast myself. It does come down to personal preferance.
That is true I like matte, gloss and silver scopes but for this gun silver.
I have a silver Leupold 3-9x40 on my stainless Ruger .308 skeleton stock. I bought it that way and thought I'd change it out as I've never much liked the silver scoped. I have blued Leupolds sitting on a shelf. That said, my Ruger still has the silver scope mounted.
On another note, those silver Leupolds are bring a premium on EBay now!

Marked Carl Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 MC Assembled in USA. It is matte silver finish with a duplex reticle. The main tube is 1". Condition is excellent, tiny ring marks. Optics are what you would expect from a high end scope!
