Recommend a trumpet call maker.........

Definitely give it a go, there's something special about making one from a turkey you got and then killing one with a call you made. I always have mine in my vest and will toss it in the mix

He makes affordable trumpets that are pure turkey. Used mine to call up both my TN birds this week.

Shoebuck on oldgobbler.com makes a great trumpet, as well as Lee Chadwick at misfire game calls. His acrylic is awesome. Some of the call makers mentioned here have a 1 year+ wait time.

Question for the trumpeteers, are the mouth pieces round or more flat usually? I've only tried one, and could not get it right. I practiced a lot, but couldn't get consistent sound.

I have a L Frank Cox trumpet. There's none better! They aren't cheap. The mouthpiece is mammoth ivory. They are like an investment that increase in value. PM me if you want his number. There used to be a 6-12 month wait but I don't know anymore.
