Thinking of doing some after season scouting in preparation for next season. Not looking for solely scouting tips but just anything in general. Bow hunting if that makes a difference.

I've had the most success by finding scrapes post season on public. You never know which ones will be the hottest next season but at least you'll know where they are at. I'll stick cameras on them right at the start of the next season and then see which ones get hot. Then I'll hunt in those areas. Favorite week to be on public land is the last week of bow season. Still not many folks out and that's when the bucks are really starting to move more.

I believe finding sign such as rubs and scrapes during post season is beneficial…. But scouting to learn the lay of the land is what you should do. And I don't mean just learn the lay of the land as topography and where the creeks are. Learn the different habitats. Learn where every acorn tree is. Learn where every thicket is.
