We have a "public" road running through our property that is heavily trafficked by 4wd/atv vehicles as those are the only ones that can travel through the rough road conditions. They drive up and down the creek in addition to crossing through the creek to continue down the road. We are going to petition the highway dept to permanently close the road. Would TWRA or any other environmental agency get involved in helping our cause to get this road to nowhere closed?

I deal with a similar situation on a property I hunt. The road is little more than a pair of ruts leading to a dead end with lots of poaching and drug activity. 1 landowner on the road blocked it. Good luck.

Contact the Environmental Division of TWRA to see what if any regulations would come into play on the TWRA end. I suspect TDEC would be most able to give you some help. If/when those vehicles are on property where they don't have permission, it is a trespass issue handled by the sheriff's dept.
