What rings/bases do you guys prefer? Have 2 new pieces i need to setup for this season and to be honest, I don't stay up to date on firearm accessories. Leaning towards Talley for now. Opinions?
If you like two piece bases, I have found the Burris Xtreme tactical bases to work very well and they are only around $25. For a picatinny rail, the Warne Mountain Rail, Area 419 or Seekins rails are awesome. For rings, the Warne Maxima horizontal rings ($50 per pair) or Seekins Precision rings ($120 per pair) are really hard to beat.
I'm a Talley lightweight guy. They've treated me good for years, and always exceeded my expectations when I called them to ask a question. Good luck with your choice.
I like old fashioned Weavers, simple to adjust and reliable. And on my lower powered cartridges what more do I need. But on my higher powered rifles I think that Burris is probably what I prefer. They have a degree of adaptability and they are attractive on the rifle. I use Leopold too, and I like the windage adjustabily of their bases, but I think they are a little pricey for what you get.
Talley Lightweight - perfect right out of the package (no lapping required). I just found out the other day they now have scope mounts w/ 20 MOA built in for long range shooters...
Leupold QR (QUICK RELEASE)base and rings. I'm always needing to take the scope off for something and with these it locks right back in place where it was.
