Deer meat for me anyways is the most expensive meat all in all a man could get but I do love it.

I raise (raised) beef cattle, still 90% of red meat consumed at home is wild game. I don't care what it cost, it is hands down the healthiest form of protein one can feed to his family.
My 10 year old daughter would eat venison tacos 8 days a week.

Had venison nachos tonight. One of my family's favorite meals. We also love venison tacos. And taco soup. And chili. And stroganoff.
All of my 8 daughters and my wife prefer venison over beef…too bad their dad is only skilled enough to kill a few a year. We ran out of the three I killed last fall in early February this year. Poorhunter is Cherokee for "hungry family"

On a sad note I just noticed our buddy agelesssone posted #11 Wednesday and now he's no longer with us . Super sad and prayers for his family.

You can cook it more ways than just ground. I do whole muscle roasts, that way I can slice into steaks, jerky, or crock pot roasts. We eat it at least 1x/ week plus leftovers. Probably 3-4 by the time it's said and done…
Had meatloaf tonight. We have 1 deer ground/year.
Below is a blackened blackstrap I do with eggs. I found a recipe in an old cookbook for the seasoning. Sear on all sides, and 5 min in the oven in a cast iron pan at 350*.
