Yep Johnson grass, but I would be more concern about the sickle pod in the back ground in the first picture

Yes, but the quantity of coffeebeans likely already in the ground is what's so dang difficult to manage. I'm convinced that the first weed to pop up after nuclear war (Heaven help us all) will be sickle pod.

that's what happens when you don't keep it cut down .it get as big as cane stalks .its a hardy seed it can lay there in the ground for 10 yrs before it comes up .
