I have been so busy I haven't been to the farm I normally hunt in the SW part of Montgomery county. But the last few years, it seems to get better during the second rut. I think when the duck hunters start hitting the river bottoms, the deer seem to migrate onto the farm I hunt more.

The rut is a marathon not a sprint. There are does that haven't been bred and satellite bucks will still roam. I've seen some of the best chases around Christmas and have had new bucks show up middle of December. Keep at it and good luck.

Trust me im not giving up.....and agree its a marathon, AT Hiker said it best....in the past it seemed that ML was the hot time to be out....and i saw chasing, but it was younger bucks....i did see a great 8 on Saturday night, 10yds away, but on wrong side of the fence, but he was with 2 other bucks. Saturday a.m. I called in a basket 8 that clearly was seeking. I appreciate the feedback.....bottom line time has to be spent in the stand
