Another customer this morning. Son went and ran them since I'm recovering from surgery and he was out of school. 3 coons and a skunk so far………not too bad for just a few traps. Got to get me some cables instead of stakes when I get recovered. B5520EE4-E809-42E9-8CF5-DE0AD7E6F0C3.jpeg

so what are you shooting the coons with? 22 rifle or hand gun? thanks.
Personally, i use both a .22 rifle and a .22 pistol to dispatch depending on which vehicle im in when running trap lines. I prefer my scoped .22 rifle, as it is capable of shooting thumbtacks at 25y, but use my pistol when running traplines off the 4wheeler

9 coons and 5 possums so far. Every coon has been a boar for the past two years - anyone else experienced this? My wife says it is because the females are smarter!
Also had several lately where cat food is cleaned out without throwing trap. Caught a couple big mice. Tried golf balls and about half of them disappeared - not sure what's going on with that??? Any ideas?? Thanks.

I use a piece of chicken bone and canned corn with excellent success. If you can, break the bone small enough so it'll sit under the trigger then put a little corn on top. i have yet to find a trap emptied of bait with this combo. If they work the trap, they're caught.

Mice are quite meticulous in doing this. This was verified by cameras over traps. Will try the chicken bone/corn combo.

Up to 36 killed this year

2 more this afternoon. Going to keep them out until the weekend and pull. 12 coons and 1 skunk so far. I don't think that's too bad for first year and two small properties with just a few traps.

Who still has there's out? Been fun running the traps with the kids.
