With some success he should be able to recruit pretty well and field decent teams. Plus, I'd imagine he could tap into some serious NIL $ to offer recruits.
Surprising to me too. But, It wasn't going to get any easier for him at OU with their upcoming move. And I suppose you can't argue theres also a hotbed of talent in Southern California so a competent recruiter and coach should be able to compete in the PACwhatever relatively quick.
Still surprised though.
