Learned something new on Friday

So I scouted on Wednesday and found a good spot with lots of fresh buck sign. Hung my treestand and covered with my umbrella and got out of the area. The plan was to go in early Friday morning and stay all day. Got to my tree about 445 and noticed something wasn't right. Umbrella was gone and my seat and arm pads were destroyed. And my padding was all over the ground. Never seen a bear but obviously one found my summit. Didn't really know what to do at this point. So I look at the stand and the big straps under the seat seemed ok and the frame was fine. Decided to just climb and spread the straps out and sit on them and the fabric. Was actually very comfortable. I pretended I was in a saddle. Lol. Climbed and was sitting around 5. And killed a buck at 2 that afternoon. I ordered a new seat but honestly may just leave it like it is for a while. Just FYI if a bear eats anyone's seat. May be an option for you.

The 2 panel saddles seem to be pretty popular, I've never used one but they say it's comfortable. I'd hate to be dealing with bears tearing my stuff up, especially trail cameras

I've heard people saying they seen them around but I have 10 cameras in this area and no pics of bears. Never even imagined that happening. But it all worked out good. Was gonna buy a saddle setup this year but ended up buying a sportsman's condo from gatodoc for my son. May try it next year. I just hope the bear don't find my other 2 summits. Lol

Chewed the stopper off my Mathews bow rope yesterday. Got to one of my stands to hook up the bow and the rubber stopper was gone. Why chew up rubber? What are you getting from that? I hope they ended up constipated...

They have destroyed 2 of my trail cameras this year.

We have lost atleast 1 trail cam from bears for years now, sometimes 2 or 3 a year. Even tried to put them up high it didn't work. So we only buy the cheap stuff now..
