If anyone is out there this weekend and stops by checking station post a pic of kill board please.
I can remember driving the trace and seeing lots of deer haven't seen that in yearsMain reasons so few deer were seen this weekend was three-fold:
1) Post-Rut
2) Unseasonably warm weather
3) Still lots of good acorns on the ground
Without the cultivated ag crops, you're simply not going to see deer in the fields at LBL like they were in times past. This is even doubly the case now with all the acorns, in the woods.I can remember driving the trace and seeing lots of deer haven't seen that in years
Area 16 is where we always hunt. Had more hunters in the area we hunt than ever in the past.My dad, brother, and uncle hunted area 16 and never saw a deer while in a stand.
This has been our experience. No deer sightings, leaving early and seeing tons of deer at the home farm. Screw LBL and screw those managing it. I quit that place about 10 years agosaw zero deer, the mosquitos were bad and heard a total of 3 shots. Area 15. We bailed and went to my farm in Humphreys for Saturday. Saw lots of deer no shooters.
Nope. #fakenews. They're both horrible hunts and noone needs to be putting in for them. The last hunt was bad timing, not only was the weather warm but it came pretty much after all rut activity. Someone messed up the dates for both hunts and they just went with it. I am guessing if both hunts would have been on the normal dates it would have been much better for both sets of quota hunters.
Your right! What was I thinking, the place no longer has any deer and this weekend is exactly how it is all the time! Thanks for helping me clarifyNope. #fakenews. They're both horrible hunts and noone needs to be putting in for them.
