Most of my hunting boots have 1200 grams. I have pretty much started wearing rubber boots all the time and just change the type of socks I wear depending on the temps.

I think 800 is sufficient. You ain't gonna wear them in the early season. You really need 2 pairs of boots. I do not care for 1000gr insulates in a rubber boot. No escape of moisture. I wear rockys and alpha lites!

600 gr in one pair and 1200 in the other. I only wear the 1200 gr pair once or twice a season, and only when its below 20 degrees.

I use 200 grams in the early season (actually most all the season with our mild temps) and 800 in winter. I cant wear the heavily insulated boots as my feet sweat easily and I cant have that!

Well folks, afew days back I was told that Croc, the company who makes "Crocs", will be coming out with a Muck boot type boot here shortly. They're supposed to be real light but I dont know how warm they will be.

Has anybody heard this?? Sounds like they would be some pretty nice boots.
