The way I look at it is……… boats are cheaper than affairs and multiple wives! They are great financial investments in the long run! Ha!

- Had a 18' Xpress with a 4stroke Yammerjammer 115
- Moved up to a 21' Xpress with a Yamaha 200
- Moved into a Bullet 21' with a 250
- Then had a 18' Skeeter with a 150 4stroke Yamaha (loved it)
- Refurb'd a 15' 1962 Skeeter... complete overhaul on the fiberglass hull and put all new hardware on it... 15 HP 4stroke Yamaha with remote and new stick steer, front and back casting decks, plus a nice 24V MinnKota trolling motor with remote control. Gave it to my brother when I went to Iraq. Might get the hull back soon.
- Only thing currently is a Wilderness Systems sit-on-top kayak that gets very little use, but is rigged for fishing.

I must have a problem. 17. This is most likely my last one due to cost. It's a 2017 Ranger Z520c. I love the water. It's been such a big part of my life. Raised my 2 boys on the water.
All this boat talk has me wanting to go fishing….

From 16 to 58, so 17 boats in 42 years. Many years I had two, a small boat for ponds, and a bass boat for large impoundments. Later years I had my bass boat and a pontoon.

One boat for all situations doesn't exist. Too big or too small.

Boat #1
Started working at volunteer metals in 2000,everyone there crappie fished. So in 2002 i bought a 14ft fisher with a 25 horse.Loved that boat, carried it everywhere fishing.Around 2006 i was ready for a bigger boat so i sold the fisher to one of my buddies.

Boat #2(2006)
Drove to franklin and bought a 1989 18ft tracker with a 50 johnson.Seems like something was always tore up on it.I liked it and it fished great but got tired of working on it all the time.So in april of 2007 i bought a new fisher prohawk 170 with a 90 merc.

Boat #3
The prohawk fisher is the best boat i have evey owned, still actually own it but need to let it go because i never use it.I have caught no telling how many fish and great memories i will never forget in the fisher.

Boat #4
2014 skeeter tzx190 with a 150 yamaha sho in july 2019,wanted something safer in rougher conditions on kylake.I absolutely hated the boat after i bought it and got to fish in it.When fishing in any kind of chop the boat slap on the water would spook the fish.I could actually see the fish run off,it drove me crazy. So i sold it feb 2020 and started fishing out of my fisher prohawk.

Boat #4
In oct of 2021 i found a 2006 triton ta196 crappie boat, rumor is they only made 70 or so from 2006 to 2008.It has a merc. optimax 150 and i really like it alot.I was wanting something 20ft or less and this one is 19ft6inches.I really like it,but if i ever sell it my next one will be a ranger,i think they fish better.

I bought and sold boats for years before they started following up on registrations and taxes. Guess I've had 30-40 through my garage. Boats that I really remember "keeping"

First boat was 1959 Lone Star with a 1959 Evinrude Lark 35. Got it before I turned 16 to fix up and be ready when I got my license. Fished the crap out of it and had no fear. Knew that motor inside and out, it never left me stranded. I cut the bow out to fish from the front.

Next was an 86 hydra sport aero-cobra 15.5' with a 115 mariner. Swapped the power head to a 150xs twister and ran tilotson carbs and stacks. Fished a lot of tournaments in that boat. Took it all over the state behind a 4cyl ford ranger

Tried to get serious in tournaments and went to a 95 stratos 201 Pro XL with a 225 venom. Boat was great, engine was trash. Always broken or breaking. That hydra sport would be out of sight before the stratos was out of the hole.

Bunch of aluminum boats. Currently have a 16' grizzly stick steer.

A few small pond/jon boats.

First fiberglass boat was a 2016 Triton TR-185.
I quickly wanted something bigger so I bought a 2019 BassCat Cougar.
After a couple of years I wanted something with a bigger front deck, so I have a Puma STS now.

In the last 35yrs, not counting numerous jon boats...started with a mid 70's 16' astroglass with a 85 merc. Sold and bought a 165 procraft with a 140 mariner. Sold and went boatless for a few years and came across a decent deal on a 95 ranger sport r72 with a 115 merc. Loved that boat. Sold it when my boys got big enough they were fishing local tourneys. Got a triton tr196 with a 200 merc. Loved that boat more than the ranger, but dang it was scary fast. Then one of my best friends was gonna trade in his tr21, so i sold that 196 and bought his. So i'm up to 5. Hope im done cause i'm tired of Breaking Out Another Thousand. :)

12 ft johnboat had a 12x transom trolling motor
17ft McKee craft with a 115 mariner I bought new I fished it out of Charleston. I was young and dumb then. Fished that boat out 50-60 miles in gulfstram to many times to remember. The boat was named "fullstream" as we always ran full-steam to the gulf stream. Where my screen name was born.
25ft contender with 250 2 stroke Yamaha. Bought it with my best friend and his dad. Could have never afforded a boat like that on my own. Caught a lot of tuna, wahoo & grouper. Fished the local SKA tournaments one year.
2019 nautic star 227 bay bout with a 200 Yamaha 4stroke bought new "Fullstream 2" fished mostly in Venice. Mostly inshore chasing reds & specks. Fished offshore many times when the weather co-operated.

Currently looking to get a 17-18' v-bottom for small lakes and big enough for Erie on flat days as I live in N Indiana now.
Pick up my 2023 alumacraft competition 165 sport with a 90 Yamaha sho Thursday. Set up with a garmin 93sv on console and 73 in the front networked. Also a terrova 80lb. I'm pretty excited.

I've got a buddy that I believe docks his pontoon over there at the same marina. His name is Terry Evans and he's a great guy. I believe he has a Tracker pontoon but if you see him holler at him and tell him Houston sent ya.Terry is one of the most humble and honest man I know.

Fishing Boats
- 16' Aluminum fishing boat with 50 Yamaha that I bought in college
- 176 Triton Magnum with 115 Johnson
- 197 Triton Magnum: started with 200 Optimax but decided to put a 150 4 stroke on it when the Optimax blew up. Had the itch last year for a new one but put new seats, carpet, switches, and trolling motor on last year instead . Added power poles this year. Much cheaper than a new one and looks new on the inside.

Pontoon
- 2003 Leisure Kraft with 50 Honda
- 2021 Leisure Kraft with 115 Suzuki

So 5 boats total and still have two of them…….197 Magnum for fishing and the pontoon for camping and putting out noodles for catfish.
