Anyone know what's causing leaves to die on my new Dunstan Chestnut trees? I'm thinking it could be over-watering, but would appreciate any tips to help me save these guys. I have around 25 young trees growing from last year's chestnuts.
I have no idea....but at work they were giving out bare root red oak and several we're left over and they offered them to me....put several in the ground....and put 10 in buckets....9 of the 10 are doing great but one suffers with something similar to what your chestnut has....I have no idea what the cause is?
Hmm....they are on my front porch which faces west and the afternoon sun is cooking.....but the other 9 are doing fine? But I may try relocating them to see if it helps.... planning to get them in the ground this fall.
2 of my 5 are doing the same thing, they are 3 feet tall. i was thinking maybe its time to transplant to ground. But i water mine regularly and they have not moved in 2 years, they are 4 years old..
