Glad to have found this site. As it gets harder to find places to hunt, I'm hoping this may open some doors. I've got a 70 acre tract I hunt with a few other hunters but the way land is getting snatched up right and left of me for developments, I know it's on borrowed time. It's sadly to the point of having to pay to hunt. That's hard on a 68-year-old that grew up knocking on farmer's doors to ask permission to hunt, and 9 out of 10 was granted that as long as the farmer and family weren't already hunting it. I always treated the ground with respect, fences, gates, no litter ... it goes a long way with the landowner. The truth is that in my lifetime, we just don't have as much wild land as we did 40-50 years ago. But we do have more deer! Funny how that works.
Note... SaltwaterWalt is because when I'm not hunting, I love heading to the coast for some salty fishing.
