Any positive or negative places near dam. About to head that way. Decided to stay and not have to drive 2 hours in morning.

Looks like a bunch with in 10 miles and fair prices. Any one of them more boat friendly than others?

No, Dayton isn't at all close to the dam. Clear on the north side of Chickamauga.
You're going to want to stick to hotels in Chattanooga—my suggestion is use Priceline or another site with a map, and you can select the closest one to your preferred area, manually. Just punch in the Chickamauga Dam Day Use Area and go from there.
Hixon seems to have some options—are you bringing a boat or not?

You're most choices of hotels are going to be I-75. Mostly near Hamilton Place mall and South at the East Ridge exit. Hotels in downtown Chattanooga will likely be higher priced but you need to check to be sure. Yes there are one or two in Hixson almost within sight of the dam.

Next time there is rooms and 2 houses you can rent at island cove marina just about 4 or 5 miles by water north of the dam

Agree, stay at island cove every year with no issues. Room for boats as long as it's not packed with a tournament. Good Mexican restaurant can walk to from hotel.
I like the Country Inn & Suites across from Hamilton Place mall.
It is like just minutes from the dam.
Kinda pricey, but nice, clean and close.

I know this was yesterday but there are several motels in Hixson right off 153 within a couple miles of the dam
