Fished Sunday wind was horrible 35mph so couldn't get out to the trout, but had a limit of reds before 8.

Wind was brutal this past weekend, small craft advisory out. This weekend should be better, and since turkey season closes tomorrow, I'll be chasing the reds, trout, and flounder.

Oh, and crawfish is down to $3.99 a lb boiled at my favorite joint on the coast. Still $5.50 a pound up here where I live.

Looks like a great trip! Best price on crawfish I've seen this year. Ya know its bad enough having to look out for a crawfish pincer but now they're carrying knives!! Sweet looking MKC. Love that handle.

I think much of Florida is only 1 red per day.
Venice is in south LA... 5 reds per day, trout limit dropped from 25 to 15 last November. You wouldn't believe how many reds are killed bowfishing the LA marshes. Both redfish and trout stock has been plummeting past 10 years.
MS is 3 reds per day, 15 trout (min 15in length). I usually only keep 1 red each trip, as long as I have a few trout and maybe a flounder to go with it.
Looks to have been a great trip, congrats. Venice is my favorite place to fish. I'm heading down mid-June hopefully a day offshore for grouper and a couple days snapper fishing.

I went OLD MAN and was thinking VENICE FLORIDA…..,..!!!!! My bad, needed more coffee or sleep, or both!!!
SC. 2 reds 15-23 slot
Trout 10 , anything 14 and over.
Venice, FL might be one of the worst places on the west coast to target redfish!
But a short trip south to Charlotte Harbor and you are in one of the best fisheries around.
