Shot down to Venice for a quick trip. 1st day was tuna, did pretty well. Ended up with a 160, 80, 50 and a 20. The 160 was a brutal 2 1/2 hour fight. We all tapped out and rotated on the rod. Captain was using 50lb flouro leader as the fish were leader shy so we were only able to use 25lb drag.
2nd was inshore looking for tripletail, only ended up with one. Our guide worked hard but conditions weren't optimal as it was rough in the bay. Had a great time with my oldest boy and a good buddy.

Sweet! That's a respectable tripletail! The only attraction I see to tuna fishing is getting to eat sashimi on the boat.and the meat haul home.

There is something special about sight fishing (tripletail, cobia, tailing reds is what I've done)

The tug is the drug!
