Venice trip

Came down to Venice with my oldest boy and a buddy with his son for a week and had 2 charters set up for mon & Tues. yesterday was grouper & swordfish trip. Ended up with 8 monster yellow ledge grouper. Hooked a big swordfish and fought him for an hour & half and lost him to a crimp failing. Heartbreaking to say the least.
Today was a tuna trip. Ended up with 10 yellowfin and 12 blackfin and a decent mahi mahi. It was an epic day as the ocean was flat and the fish were biting. Next 3 days we will be inshore chasing reds & specks.

Just got back a few weeks ago from a weekend trip down there, bow fishing one night and redfish and trout the next day.
The weather messed up the trout and redfish trip, but the few hours we were able to fish were awesome, will definitely be doing it again

Blue water was really far out from the Mississippi being high. Captain said we were close to 100 miles out.

Gulf of America charters. Captain Austin. He's a workhorse and will find the tuna.

Lol 4 120qt coolers filled, had all fish vacuum sealed and froze which helped. Grabbed 20lb big ole shrimp right off the boat. Good times

Just make sure you have ALL the proper license and permits. Every time I get a license in LA, there is some "free" additional permit required. My info is correct on the license but won't transfer for the free permit. I have called and had LDWF "fix" the problem 2x now but it happens every year. Typically its my birthdate not transferring from my license to the permit. Knowing people in LDWF I think it is either a designed in feature or one they won't fix to write more tickets. One of their biologists explained that writing tickets is a huge revenue source for them that isn't in the budget or something like that.
