Better rifle

Looking at a new rifle just don't know what I want to go with. Considering either a .308 or trying a 6.5 Creedmoor. What are experiences with the 6.5 or recommendations.

First thing to consider is cost, then style/type, then caliber, last thing is ammo availability , have fun there's more choices now than ever.

Cost is a key factor, are you wanting to spend $500 or $5,000, do you already have a scope etc

Out to 300 to 400 yds, there is very little difference.

Right now a pressing issue might be ammo. See what you find. That might be a decision maker. Both are good calibers.

Personally I'd go .308 as my way to rebel against all the bandwagoneers. But then again I'm not hunting at extended distances. .308's used to be the go to caliber at long distance competitions.

Both will do the job ,get a rifle you like and feels good to you also make sure you get a good scope and mounts.That is over looked to many times .

For hunting distances the only real difference will be recoil. A light 6.5 CM rifle will have less recoil than the .308. There is plenty of ammo available for both during normal times, and the 6.5 CM ammo has still been popping up fairly regularly as well. Which one to get? I don't know, so I have both.
