+1 for 6 arc, but there is no ammo readily available currently. This is a 3 shot group at 100 with an 18inch proof cf in 6arc

I've bought quite a few parts from PSA & Anderson and I've never had any issues. Both are good quality and a good value. Any mil-spec components should be basically interchangeable. I would shy away from foreign manufacturers, USA just makes better stuff. Caliber is dependent on intended use, but for what it's worth I built a 350 Legend for deer hunting and results were excellent.

I built mine with an Aero Precision lower, and then you can find whatever upper you like.
I love Aero Precision they've treated me right!
I think Aero is maybe a little under rated due to their price range. Dollar for dollar I don't think they can be beat for their quality. Parent company of aero owns ballistic advantage as well, very good barrels.

Uggghhhh why would want one of those when you can get a perfectly good AK??😅

All joking aside There's! There's still plenty available if you look. Don't pay extravagant prices i see plenty at local gun shops, nice rifles, going at good prices. ARs fit into two categories: the ones that work, and the ones that don't. (Kinda like AKs) don't let someone tell you that your PSA rifle is trash when its a 1moa gun and hasn't had a malfunction...you know...ever. theyre lego guns, you can piece and part them together as you like, and a 50 dollar Anderson lower holds a trigger just as well as a 400 dollar billet lower. I've bought expensive stuff. I've bought cheap stuff. I've machined my own stuff. And the common denominator is "does it sling lead like its supposed to?". Check out classicfirearms.com as well. They tend to only keep stuff that shoots well for what it is. You should be able to get in for less than 1k for a reliable, and accurate gun.

What kind of speed is a 55 grain bullet traveling out of a 10.5 inch barrel? Just curious if anyone has chrono'ed one. I have a 10 inch 556 caliber TC Contender that shoots pretty good flame from the unburned powder.

Finally got everything in. Watched a few YouTube videos and decided, like any other man, I can get that thing together. Took me a bit over an hour, but I've got my parts kit in and everything assembled. Went out back and did a function check, as well as an ammo check since I rolled those too. Not sure how accurate it is, but it went bang and put a smile on my face.

More than anything, this is all about defense. So a compact setup works good. I originally started out to build a carbine, but after consulting with several guys I decided to try out a pistol.
Thats excellent. I beleive the ar, especially in these smaller form factors, is a great option for home defense.
