What do y'all think of a .45 Colt standard pressure loads out of a rifle for deer hunting? It would be handy to have a rifle and six gun of the same caliber.

I am assuming you are talking about something in the neighborhood of a 250gr bullet at 1000 fps. You would be looking at around 550 ft lbs of energy. Shot placement would be critical. If you are able to step up to the Ruger loads you can get over 1000 ft lbs with the same bullet. That would put you in rifle territory at short distances. With all that being said, many deer have fallen to a .44 mag rifle and pistol, and it would be in a similar ballpark.

I have a 44cal in a Ruger Deerfield and a Ruger 44 Hunter revolver that really make a great pair.
