As my name would indicate-I love sheds so I thought I'd start a shed thread. If you've stumbled across any already-fresh or old-feel free to post

This one is from a few days ago. Match to a shed I found last year in the same area. Exact same spot I saw the deer two years ago when he was holding the antlers.

Also added a small deadhead I may retrieve to give to my buddies shed puppy in training from a week ago. With the most recent trail cam pic of him

Technically a 2021 shed...but interesting way to pick up a shed.... recently feeding hay to horses in barn and came across this small shed.... apparently it got square baled.... hope to have something more recent in the months ahead...good luck shed hunting.

Interesting post here. What time of the year do buck start shedding their antlers? Any place or type where they occur? Thanks. Waiting to be edumacated.
Some have already dropped, but that's an extremely low percentage in the majority of the south. I will start looking in January 29th this year in KY. The majority of sheds will dropped in late February-mid March though

This is from January 27-28 in 2018. Last time I got to get out early for a trip

This was the first season I didn't pick up a shed while deer hunting but I did find two decent dead heads. I usually don't start finding sheds in good amounts until the later part of March. I'm hoping to improve my success rate with a shed dog. I have a female GSP that will be born any day now who's primary job will be shed hunting. I'll post some pics up of the dead heads as soon as I can.

I've not found a lot of sheds myself mostly due to lack of time in my area of the woods. My trail cams tell me that march 21st is about the last time I see bucks with antlers. Spring equinox is my time to start looking based on my cams.

I am considering looking for some, I would love to get a few thick bases I could turn into knife scales. I doubt there are any in my place, but will surely look, so I think I will try some of the areas I have access to.

Decent first actual shed hunt. Pudgy 4pt shed. (Measured it 5 1/4. The antler is so small it looks bigger) Still a lot holding even in KY. I may give this area another go later on but otherwise I'm just eager to try and find the same deer I found last year in TN
