I put my first gen reveals out early last fall. I still have the batteries running in one of them and the batteries are at 100%. Now there are not alot of photos at this spot. Maybe 5-10 per day. The other one which had more activity I changed out the batteries at the beginning of June(battery life on the app said 60% when I changed them). I use lithium batteries. The 2 reveal x I have are still 100% and I put those out at the beginning of June. Probably around 250 pics on each since putting them out. The only issue I had was my own fault when I updated one of the 1st gen cameras I accidentally did the update wrong so I had to send the camera in the be "reflashed" per tactacam customer service. Had my camera back in less than two weeks from the time I sent it out to tactacam. Havent had any further issues with this particular camera. Overall for the price I think these are amazing cameras.

Just a "heads up" since so many users are not aware (and this has been the case with all trail cam brands, not just Tactacam):

The battery meters do not work properly with lithium batteries.
The meters will read 100% until the batteries fail.

If you had one reading 60%, it had just fail.

I usually only get less than a dozen more pics after the meter drops below 100% with lithium batteries.

I've heard in the future the battery meters are going to begin working with lithium batteries (and this is possibly a feature of the new Tactacam Reveal X).

Mine was still working and taking pictures fine at 60% but it dropped from 100% to 60% dropping 10-20% at a time over a short period of like 5 days according to my app. I just changed them bc I didnt want it to go completely dead and cause problems with the camera

For those looking, appears WOA has the AT&T model in stock for $140.

Interesting, I did not know about that sale, but did call the Chattanooga store today. They had none in stock and none expected.

This Reveal SK is supposed to drop in July? It has solar charger, and video too.

No telling what we will have in a few years.

The Reveal X isn't has good as the Gen1....both daylight pictures are terrible! They become super pixelated when you zoom in...these camera are great for people that aren't interested in seeing specific details on each deer. The battery life is excellent on the x so far....The Spypoint takes someone that can read and comprehend and they are great.

What do you think people are not reading on the spypoint setup?

Thanks for this tip.

I woke up last night after midnight and tried to purchase online again and was successful. I bought two more and they are expected by July 1.

The inventory said sold out, but when I clicked it anyway...I was allowed to purchase.

The best part is that I also purchased two $100 gift cards off raise for $95 each then got a $20 off those card purchases. So, I literally now have $91 including tax invested in each camera.

With people buying these currently on eBay auctions for $170+, I'm really tempted to sell and move up to Browning Ridgelines or Pro Scouts.

The appropriate SD cards and Brand of cards they recommend. The firmware update directions and power sources. Nearly all the issues are from those 3, and if you read and comprehend you can avoid these problems. The world today everyone wants things immediate and fast...so they don't take the time to read what makes The cameras optimal. I had a friend all upset over is camera...I check his SD card and it was a PNY#4, got a #10 San disk and it's flawless now.

How far away from deer are you setting your camera up? This photo is more than adequate for me, and I can request HD photo with X and retrieve SD card if I really have a burning desire to get a better look at something.

All there pictures appear good but when you zoom...it gets pixelated terribly! The spypoint micro links are better in this department...Also the " Red Glow" on the night picture are Tremendous, I mean it lights up the whole woods so the night pics are good...I don't like the big glow and again spypoint has 4 tiny leds blink for a sec and not a big glow.

I picked up a Reveal and a Moultrie Delta at the Chattanooga Bass Pro on the first day of Father's Day. I'm not even going to mess with the Delta, but I do want a couple more Reveals and I doubt they will go on sale anytime soon.

Here is the response from Tactacam where to find one:

Thank you for reaching out and for your interest in the Reveal X! Customers have told us they are not finding them online and having to call stores and speak with someone there to get accurate inventory info.

Please keep in mind there is extremely high demand for this camera, but we are shipping cameras out as fast as possible.

Here are the dealers where you will be most likely to find the Reveal X in stock:
  • Bass Pro
  • Gander Outdoors
  • Scheels
  • Herd 360
  • Buck It Ready
  • Pure Whitetail
  • Whitetails of America
  • Sportsmen's Warehouse

Thank you,
Tactacam Curtis
