I managed to tune in just in time for the blind discussion. Let em keep their tiered crap if they want, just put the tier 1 blinds back to in person draw. And if they want to really simplify things, lump all the tier 2, 3, and 4 spots into tier 2, build a blind on em, and everyone is pretty much happy.

I didn't watch it but if I was in a meeting and when I started talking the other commissioners started texting at that moment I would have stopped the meeting and made it VERY AWKWARD and called them out on their lack of respect cause when you're texting you're not listening. I wonder what was so important that they would have to start playing on their phones. They were probably talking about the thorn in their side guy from TNdeer named @RUGER lol

I disagree
The ONLY option is to do away with the tier bs make all the blinds 60 day draws and go back to the in person draw !!!!!!

If you can't do what it takes to prep and hunt a 60 day blind then MOVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

If duck hunting is that important to you it's not a big deal.
Just like if trout fishing was that important to me I would call calico rock Arkansas home

No other outcome is acceptable

I don't figure at this point they are willing to go completely back to what it was. I feel like my idea would be a reasonable compromise. What I really expect in the long run is no season long blinds left on any WMA. I think that's their eventual end-goal at any rate.

They will never give back the Tier 2 blinds once they have replaced them with the $40,000 blinds. Your only option is to hopefully get the tier 1 back in person. That will not happen until the online is proven to not work. I would imagine that will be about impossible with this group. They are made up of mostly people from Nashville and East TN. They don't think people should have to drive and do in person draw.

As a state employee and alot of my family are and we're state employees (retired now) what I've witnessed thru them and my 25yrs of experience never say never. I've seen them piss away millions of dollars on something that didn't work as some desk nerd with no common sense said it would and turn around in a year and go back to what it was before or a new option.

I love how the Butt guy started out sayin "I know we get a lot of negative" lol. Yeah dude what does that tell you. Watching that meeting will make you sick to your stomach all them guys are so biased toward this new change. If looks could kill Monte Belew wouldn't have made it out of that meeting. Ripely looked like he was about to stroke out That commission ain't nothing but a bunch of sorry liberal cucks determined to completely ruin our duck hunting

I hunted a top 3 WMA in the state the past couple days. Approximately a 40 percent occupancy yesterday and 15 percent today. Good scenario if drawn but point creep is going to kill us.

absolutely. They keep this system in place for few more years You'll never get drawn. The majority of people right now are putting in as individuals to "cheat" the system as we speak

That Granberry guy all of a sudden was worried they'd change the survey and get some responses that didn't fit their narrative lol. Although hasn't it been stated the survey is worded to show approval of the new system. TWRA and TFWC ain't nothing but a bunch dang crooks

That meeting gives me absolutely zero hope.

Thank you Monte Belew for standing up to the other commissioners even though they shot you down every step of the way.

Monte wanted a simple question added to the post hunt surveys. "Do you prefer in person draws, or online draws?" This caused all the other commissioners to panic and freak out.

Jim Ripley is as pathetic as they come. Won't even consider anything other than the plan they have in place now.

Those in the blind interviews were so pre-scripted and cringeworthy it was laugheable.

And go figure they had another major major screw up at the left over draw.

Know how many screw ups there were when everyone's name was in a barrel??
I saw one at gooch
It was because a guy put both halves of his card in.
Cost him and his group the number one pick that year.
Easy and transparent.
No wonder they didn't like the in person draws!

🤣 I was at the gooch leftover draw one year, and my buddy dropped the wrong half in. He realized it after we sat down and went and told the officer. He said it would be fine.

Wouldn't you know it the first card drawn was the wrong side. My buddy and I jumped up excited, but there was one other dummy that put the wrong half in too. They had to match them up and of course it was his.
