With the weather getting cooler, I've been finding that I enjoy the crock pot for making meals.

Yesterday I made a pot roast cooking all day made the house smell amazing.

Any suggestions to what you love to cook in the crock pot? Particularly low carb style stuff.

Ribs!!!

Season with salt, pepper, strawberry's and then cover with Sweet Baby Ray's and a stick of real butter.

Need a big spoon to take them up with but they are absolutely amazing.

I want to try ribs in the crock pot. Few questions on this one....

1) Where the heck do you find Strawberry's?????? I can't find it anywhere but Amazon
2) How long do you cook it for and on med or high?

Thanks, Ruger! Let me try our small stores around here first. Didn't think to look in those. I've looked in the big box stores with no luck, so figured the small ones wouldn't have it. I'll check this week. I'm smoking 30 lbs of chicken quarters next weekend.

Will be trying crockpot ribs soon!

being from Missouri when I saw Strawberry's mentioned I was waiting to see who asked first about putting strawberries on the ribs thinking you were talking about the fruit.

I've never tried it but everyone raves about it. Been wanting to eat at the restaurant in Holcomb.

One more Q for Ruger.....you put any water or anything else in there other than what's mentioned above?

Far from healthy but definitley good lol

Italian Beef sandwiches

2-3 lb chuck roast
Beef stock(just enough to cover the roast about halfway)
1 jar of Italian giardiniera(strain all the juice out and just add the contents
1 jar of pepperoncini slices(juice and all)
8- 12 oz of your favorite beer

Cook until the beef shreds and serve on a hoagie roll. You can dip it the juice or mix up an au jus.

Next deer you kill, keep the shanks out of the grind pile. Bonus points for keeping the entire lower leg intact. It helps to gambrel them through the foot, rather than the first tendon joint. Keeping that long tendon together prevents the roast from drawing up into a tight wad of sinew.

A bit off topic but this Crock-pot gets my vote for how to carry the leftovers from yesterdays fullsized-crock-pot to work for lunch?

Works so good I bought another

Just dropped chicken breasts, and some green chillies, a little chicken stock. Closer to being finished will drop some cream cheese and shred the breasts.
Simple, not super spicy chicken tacos.

Country style, baby backs, spare or St. Louis?
