I just had some dozer work done around my pond and to clear off a new homesite. Now I have about 2 acres of bare dirt and want to plant something that will come up and prevent erosion. Any suggestions?

Buckwheat would be good right now if slopes aren't to terrible until you could put your fall plants like clover, wheat, etc in. Course if you don't care about wildlife, since I see home mentioned, this could change.

Is this just for erosion control, or are you looking for something deer will eat?

Grain rye (elbon rye) will grow in anything, including gravel, and deer will eat it.
