Really glad Obamer got my attention and had me making purchases. Then Mr Trump gave us a $1200.00 check that every penny went into 144 Bergers...! All same lot!
It would be sad indeed to see how much it would cost to replace those items. My reasoning was simple, planning my retirement. Neither son has interest in this stuff. Both love to shoot though.

I've been working up (if you call searching for available powder "working up") loads for my new-to-me 40-65 WCF Pedersoli Sharps. It shoots a very nice group with IMR4198 and 300 gr cast bullet, but I can't find that powder anywhere. Right now I'm working with Goex FFFg BP, since that's about all I've got.

Loading a box of 50 60 gr Partitions for my 223 bolt guns. One (T/C Venture) has a slow twist, can't shoot anything heavier. 25 gr H335 SAAMI spec length chamber is tight tight on both .

I may slip in a few 70 gr Accubonds for the Axis.

Took out our muzzleloaders and looked them over and checked/cleaned them. Checked my field box for ml'er components. Plenty of powder and enough bullets, but only have about 60-70 209 primers, so the search for them starts.

Our local dunhams has had federal 209 ml primers. They're high at $20/100. But they're there.

Loaded up 50 6.5 grendel today. I probably used that many this week on hogs. 123 gr SST, 28.5 gr AA2520.

Loaded up 100 6mm Remington 75gr v-max and a 100 243 win 75gr V-max for a prairie dog trip in a few weeks.

Since it's 90* outside I've spent part of the day lightly chamfering the necks of 300 new Lapua .308 brass. Tomorrow I'll load 240 with 41.8 grains of surplus 4895 under 168gr Hornady A-MAX projectiles and the other 60 rounds with 44.6 gr of Varget under 165gr Speer BTSP #2034. Both loads shoot sub MOA all the way to 200 yards.

I've decided that I REALLY need a case prep station after doing this chamfering by hand today. Recommendations with pros/cons appreciated.

Once I get a prep station I have several .223 to prep and load. I don't think I'm gonna hand chamfer any more.

I have the Hornady Lock and load $700.00 station and it's a blessing on my worn out wrists, but I think I would also swag my primer pockets if I was going to do any more crimped primers. They even rebuilt it at no charge cause I worn it out after tons of brass. It's absolutely awesome trimming the cases.

I like the Lyman case prep station, but it does take a bit more room than a few others but the functionality more than makes up for it.

I reworked my 223 + 75gr bthp load. I believe I had a little too much fuel turned to it. Dropped back .3grs and everything looks more gooder now.

A friend sent me a nice stash of bullets, a bunch of of .45 cast and a smattering of 6.5 bullets. Guess I have a bunch of ladders to load.

I just placed my order for the FA Platinum Case Prep Station with the trimmer and also some graphite case neck lube with application media. The FA prep center was $166 with free shipping on Amazon. That beat all other places that checked on the web by at least $20.

THE reason that I went with the FA is that it's made of steel and aluminum. I hope that means that it's better than plastic. Maybe yes/maybe no. Time will tell.

I do like the way the top of the Lyman catches the brass shavings. Probably gonna need something like the lid for a small plastic tub to put under the FA unit.
