I've been fishing with a fly rod since 1981, bream, bass and trout and have read about weight forward/shooting head lines but never thought I had a use for one, now I do. With this saltwater thing coming up I thought I'd get one off amz and just try it to see what the hype was…. omg! Get about a rod length out and 2 back casts 60 feet no problem!!! It's a whole new world!!!

The heavy rod weights are really incredible how much power they possess. I am a firm believer that a 10 weight will whip a 100+ tarpon faster than a spinning rod.
