Calling or texting out buddies telling them the good, bad, and ugly of the first Saturday in August handheld duck blind draw. Instead I'm sitting here thinking "come on deer season". It sure does take the wind out of one's sails not being around that and being in the atmosphere of the blind drawings.

I never understood the attraction to the blind drawings…until I started to attend them in 2014.

I was fortunate to have friends in the local area to host me for the weekend and we mad e the best of our time together…win, lose or draw….or no draw. I have missed it some, but not like many on here. I am not a fan of blind hunting to begin with, but the older I get, the more. Can appreciate the tradition of in person blind draws.
