Before returning to the practice field Tuesday morning in Tampa, Fla., Tennessee received a visit from a local football legend.
Tennessee coach Butch Jones posted on his Twitter account that former NFL star linebacker Derrick Brooks, a Pro Football Hall of Famer, addressed the Vols before their practice Tuesday at the University of Tampa. Tennessee (8-4) is scheduled to take on 12th-ranked Northwestern (10-2) in the Outback Bowl on Friday.
Brooks, an 11-time Pro Bowler, spent his entire 14-year NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He helped the Buccaneers win Super Bowl XXXVII and was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2014.
He's currently a co-owner and president of the Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League.
