So Miller didn't deliver the gun, at the request of Miles, to the location where it was used by Davis to murder an innocent woman?
Did he "deliver" the gun?? Sure if you wanted to phrase it like a click bait article.

Miller was already en route to pick up Miles when the text message was sent about "bringing the gun" and unaware that Miles' gun had been left in his back seat, covered with a hat, when Miller dropped him off earlier in the night.

I ABSOLUTELY believe that if the same scenario had taken place and Miller was not a starting star on the Bama basketball team that he would have been charged!

Bama has ALWAYS had the Tuscaloosa PD in their hip pocket. It goes all the way back to the Bear Bryant days. They once had a starting fullback shoot at someone with a 16 ga after a minor traffic accident and nothing was done. He didn't even miss any games as the Bear said he hadn't violated any team rules.

I would about guarantee that if Miller was playing for Barnes that he would no longer be on the team.

I hope you thought the little patting down routine that they did on Miller today was cute.

Fortunately, the whole country is getting to see what Bama is all about.
Your pearl clutching is laughable. You're as bad as the media for painting someone as guilty, until proven innocent, without knowing the facts.
I'm glad Miller is still playing because he should be. I hope even more so that UT plays Alabama in the SEC Tournament.

Maybe Miller can shoot UT out of the gym. Like that pun?

There is no question that he took somebody a weapon that resulted in a young mother being murdered. He has admitted to that.

It doesn't take being guilty of a crime to have your playing status suspended. We have seen it fairly frequently at UT when our guys have done dumbazz things. But, there is no school in the country with the win at all cost mentality like Alabama. They have a well-deserved reputation of being the dirtiest school in college sports.

Supposedly, the DA prosecuting the case is a Bama undergrad and got their law degree from Bama. I'm sure that isn't coloring the decisions any............

😂😂 UT is the gold standard for handling student athletes that get in trouble. That Orange koolaid must be refreshing.
What you're suggesting is the same cancel culture mindset that is ruining this country. Get a grip.

Compared to the job Bama is currently doing in their debacle, the way UT has handled their issues would be the gold standard.

It is time to take a step away from being a Bammer and get a grip on just how badly they have handled this mess.

From a PR standpoint it could've been handled better by getting out in front of it in the public sphere. Here's the thing—none of what's been released is new info. All involved parties, coaches, the University and admin have known about everything for over a month. It's only new news to the public and the media machine.
The media are the only folks causing problems because they're misleadingly reporting to try and cause outrage. Fake news still hasn't changed.

Except it isn't fake news.

What Miller did is well documented. Whether is rises to a level of a crime is something that should be decided at the legal levels by unbiased professionals (not a UA law school grad).

Nonetheless, the vast majority of schools would have realized the terrible optics of continuing to play him in light of the info that has come out. Instead, you have Bama giving the middle finger to the family of the victim and the rest of college sports by doing their cute little pat down routine while Miller leads them to another win.

Win at all costs has always been the Bama way.

You just keep those far reaching ideas to make the school look like they should be on a pedestal. The following is copied from al.com (since you think print media is where the info should come from). This was on Wednesday 2/22. If they knew for over a month, why did Byrne lie this past wednesday?

Wednesday? From al.com:
Alabama athletics director Greg Byrne said Wednesday the school learned new details this week about star basketball player Brandon Miller's contact with Darius Miles the night of the Jan. 15 killing of Jamea Harris.

Specifically, Byrne told ESPN's College Gameday podcast that the school did not know about Miles' text message request to Miller asking the freshman forward to bring Miles' gun to the scene.

"That information was new to me," Byrne said Wednesday. "I had not been told that before."

The text message was revealed as part of law enforcement testimony at a 9 a.m. Tuesday hearing in Tuscaloosa's county jail to decide bond for Miles and Michael Davis, who were both charged with capital murder. That hearing had been initially scheduled for Feb. 7 before being postponed.

Reporters were present for the Tuesday hearing from several local news outlets, but recording devices, phones, laptops and cameras were not allowed. During the second hour of the two-and-a-half hour hearing, a reporter from the Tuscaloosa Thread left the room to publish a story revealing initial details about Miller's vehicle being at the scene.

Other details, including the text messages, had not yet been reported from the courtroom when coach Nate Oats arrived in the Coleman Coliseum press room shortly after noon Tuesday for his regular-scheduled 11:30 a.m. news conference previewing Wednesday's game at South Carolina.

During the news conference, Oats was asked a question that noted the court discussion about Miller's vehicle and inquired about Oats' comfort level given Miller's proximity to the shooting.

"We knew about that," Oats responded. "Can't control everything everybody does outside of practice. Nobody knew that was going to happen. College kids are out, Brandon hasn't been in any type of trouble nor is he in any type of trouble in this case. Wrong spot at the wrong time."

Give a case for where UT mishandled an athlete getting into trouble?

Hey Volboy, did I say it could've been handled better or did I place Alabama on a pedestal?
Your cut/copy/paste game is strong. Not changing my mind and I'm not changing yours. I've already stated that the media is misreporting/selectively reporting facts.
You found some in an article….(slow clap).

We are in agreement. What Miller did is well documented—numerous witness accounts, on multiple different security cameras at all surrounding businesses, by a dash cam IN HIS OWN VEHICLE WHERE MILES GUN WAS LOCATED, and by cell phone records; all of which were turned over to Tuscaloosa PD investigators and there were no charges levied on Brandon Miller.
End of story. If there was corruption to the level you've created in your mind the Feds would have already stepped in.

The point you keep skipping over is that there doesn't need to be criminal charges for Bama to suspend him. He took a weapon, at 1:30 in the morning, to two team mates that was used to take the life of a young mother. If he had used the great upbringing that he supposedly had at Cane Ridge, he would have realized that was a really bad idea. Instead, his actions directly led to the death of that girl.

Most schools would have realize the terrible PR they would be facing by continuing to play him and would have suspended him. It wouldn't have done much to his upcoming lottery pick, but likely would have taken Bama off the short list for the final 4. It is no surprise that Bama chose the win at all cost route. It is totally consistent with how they have handled problems with their athletes in past times.

Yemi Makanjuola-transfered.
A.J. Johnson, Michael Williams, Von Pearson, Alexis Johnson, Riyadh Jones all suspended.
They settled because otherwise it opened up the discovery process which meant the curtain would've been pulled back on the rape culture that the athletic dept and the university admin allowed to be swept under the rug.
Win at all costs. It was put on display for the whole nation to see and none have forgotten. #metooGBO

AJ Johnson and Williams stood trail and were found not guilty.
Settling a civil case is up to the accusers to accept or not.
